The tourist information center in Bever follows the overarching design concept developed for Engadin Tourism. This framework establishes a consistent design language across all locations while allowing for site-specific adaptations. In Bever, situated along the UNESCO World Heritage route of the Rhaetian Railway, the focus was on a careful and respectful treatment of the existing historic structure. Particular attention was given to the original aged timber cladding, which was meticulously restored and thoughtfully integrated into the new interior design.
A central element of the redesign is the service counter, executed in textured plaster and featuring a modern interpretation of traditional sgraffito, inspired by the water pearls characteristic of Bever. This circular motif is echoed in the custom-designed chandelier and the prominently highlighted information point within the 24-hour accessible area. Custom furniture and a clear spatial structure combine high design quality with functional clarity, creating a space that harmoniously bridges historical identity and contemporary use.
