Competition

Residential

Zurich

Year: 2021
Assignment: Invited competition, 2nd place
Client: Private

As part of a competition, a four-room apartment was converted into a private holiday residence. The design combines the architectural features of the existing structure with a contemporary approach inspired by modern textile art. This serves as the foundation for the interior concept, which plays with layered structures, refined materials, and a carefully coordinated colour palette.

The open and flowing floor plan creates a hotel-like atmosphere. The central living and dining area faces the vibrant city side, while the master bedroom with en-suite bathroom opens onto the quiet inner courtyard. Transparent glass elements separate the different zones while allowing a high degree of permeability—creating the feeling of a loft-like space.

Organic and geometric forms subtly structure the interior. Selected materials reflect textile qualities and, together with furnishings and artworks, create a harmonious and atmospherically rich spatial composition.
